What This Is…

A 5-week guided journey to re-imagine and re-integrate your livelihood as a living ecosystem—your Livelihood Garden.

This is not a job-search or hustle-culture course. It’s a collective practice for insight, wisdom, and community where we will…

  • Diagnose what’s truly growing (and wilting) in our livelihood gardens.

  • Understand how our livelihood meets—or fails to meet—our core human needs.

  • Discover our unique “service berry”—the gift we can cultivate and share effortlessly with your community.

  • Align ourselves to our next calling, and release ourselves from what’s been holding you back.

  • Find clarity on our next step, not from a place of frantic hustle, but from inner stillness

Each week, we blend curated wisdom from leading thinkers, live group exploration, and a unique guided meditation to help you “hollow out” and connect to your inner clarity.

Who This Is For…

This programme was designed for the sensitive, thoughtful individual who feels that their livelihood should mean more.

You will feel at home here if you:

  • Are unemployed, or pursuing alternative forms of employment and livelihood.

  • Feel chronically burnt-out or out of alignment in your current role, and are ready to understand the root causes.

  • Are tired of chasing society's "shoulds" and want to define success by your own values and needs.

  • Sense a quiet calling or gift within you, but feel blocked on how to share it sustainably.

  • Are at a crossroads, feeling the tension between "paying the bills," "healing your past," and "building a better future."

In short: this is for the willing gardener, ready to tend to their inner landscape to cultivate an outer life that truly flourishes.

What we’ll cover

A 5-Week Journey Through Your Inner Ecosystem

Each 2-hour live session is a dedicated space for exploration, shared reflection, and guided practice.

  • In every session, we’ll make space for breakout rooms so that we can get to know each other at a more human scale.

  • We’ll also take time to do a guided meditation to drop into inner-wisdom and understand how that wants to guide us through this moment of reflection and transition.

  • Finally, at the end of each session, we hold space for Q&A or some live 1-on-1 somatic embodiment for those who need it.

  • Each module also includes curated reading and reflective prompts sent before the call, so we dive deep from the moment we gather live.

Here’s the path we’ll walk together:

Module 1: The Garden – Planting the Seed of Awareness

We begin by meeting your "garden of livelihood." What plants are you tending to, what’s in your substrate, what nurtures your soil, and how does your compost shape your garden?

  • In breakout rooms, we discuss what’s working with our current livelihood, where do things want to shift, and what season we find ourselves in.

  • We meditate on our connection with the web of life, and feel into the questions that are alive for us right now, and how our inner-wisdom already has the answers.

Module 2: Earth – Tending Your Fundamental Needs

Grounded in the framework of Manfred Max-Neef’s Fundamental Human Needs.

  • We explore how to nourish yourself so your garden—and you—can thrive from the roots up.

  • We meditate on our needs, bringing clarity to our priorities. Inviting new ways of being in the world which bring sustenance and dignity.

  • In breakout rooms, we’ll talk about how we care for our soil, and how our garden helps us care for ourselves and our dependents.

Module 3: Water – Flowing into Community

Grounded by The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer

  • We explore how your livelihood can be an act of reciprocity, enriching both you and your wider community.

  • We meditate on our serviceberry—that which we can cultivate and offer to the world, at little cost or effort to ourselves.

  • In breakout rooms, we explore how to fulfill our needs synergistically, and help younger plants grow through community collaboration.

Module 4: Fire – Igniting Your Purpose

Grounded by Right Livelihood in an Unjust Society by Matt Williams.

  • We’ll connect your greatest gifts to the world’s needs, defining a sense of "right livelihood" that energises and guides you.

  • We meditate on what you are being called towards, and what needs to be left behind for you to properly step forward.

  • In breakout rooms, we turn our doubt into inspiration as we empower each other to step towards our calling.

Module 5: Air – Navigating with Clarity

Grounded by Acupuncture Points for Systems Change by Donella Meadows

  • We explore the intersections of healing our soil, surviving today, and growing a better tomorrow.

  • We meditate on mythopoetic identity, and hone in on our next step forward.

  • In breakout rooms, we explore the acupuncture points for systems change within ourselves. What needs to finally shift so that we are allowed to step into a more fulfilling life?

Meet Your Facilitator

Portrait of a man with long black hair, of Asian descent, wearing a black leather jacket and a white shirt.

I work with overachievers, caregivers, and seekers who feel burnt-out and excluded from their own lives.

We learn to listen to the wisdom of the body to cultivate a deep sense of self-love, trust and confidence, to go from the anxiety of "Am I?" to the wholeness of "I am."

For the Wise Livelihood Course, I blend my lived experiences with monkhood, permaculture, and indigenous ways of life to help us come back to ourselves, each other, and our livelihoods.

Your Garden Awaits the Gardener

 FAQs

  • Life happens.

All live sessions will be recorded and made available to enrolled participants within 24 hours.

You will access to these recordings for a year.

While the live interaction is invaluable for connection, you will be able to follow the journey at your own pace if necessary.

  • We respect your time.

The core commitment is the 2-hour live call each week.

Before each module, you will receive a short, curated reading (like an essay chapter) and 2-3 reflective questions. Engaging with this pre-work takes about 30-45 minutes and significantly deepens your live session experience, but the most important thing is your presence on the calls.

There is no mandatory homework or busywork.

  • Absolutely!

The “hollowing out” meditation we practice is a simple, guided process of creating inner quiet and listening for your own innate clarity.

It is not religious or esoteric.

Think of it as a practical tool for defragmenting a busy mind, similar to focused journaling or a deep reflective walk. Many participants who were initially skeptical find it to be the most powerful, grounded part of the entire programme for gaining actionable insights.

  • The absolute maximum cohort size is 20 people.

Breakout rooms will ideally contain around 4 people each.

  • The Wise Livelihood course focuses on clarity, community, and simplicity.

As such, there will not be an online membership site that you will have to access.

Everything you need arrives directly in your inbox. You'll receive readings and reflection questions ahead of each module via email—and you will receive no more than one email per week!

All other engagement, and community building, happens during our live, interactive Zoom sessions and breakout rooms.

No new passwords to remember, no portals to navigate—just pure learning and connection.
